I discovered This Guy Edits on YouTube and I started watching as much as I could. I find Sven Pape to be engaging intellectually, consistently interesting and a natural born teacher. (And he seems like a nice guy: no unhealthy ego.) There is a lot of worthwhile information and Sven, as usual, presents it in a way that is precise, multilayered and is enjoyable as well. If Sven can't pull it out of you, story telling may not be for you. And there is nothing wrong with that. Sven will help you focus your talents no matter where they reside.
Go to Editor is fantastic. I'm just super grateful that they made this. If you do want to do something with editing, this is definitely a program that you should invest in because it is an investment. I know it's opened up things for me, given me a ton of confidence, and is just a no-brainer. If editing is really what you want to do, invest 100% in the GoToEditor.

The course itself is great and gives you hands on real world experience at cutting footage. In addition to the course are weekly office hours where you can get your questions answered. And a discord server where you can also get questions answered. These have been invaluable. If that wasn't enough there are always additional extras, including the chance to compete for an actual paying editing job.
I love the course. Theory and practice go hand-in-hand, plus the course does not require paid software to advance. It also dispels the myth that a high level of technical know-how and fancy special effects are required to be able to edit videos or film. The course is a step by step guide through the entire process, covering both the video and audio aspects of editing. Didn't ever regret a moment that I availed of this course, wish I had availed of it sooner. :)
